Russell Bartyzal VIEW PROFILE

Russell J. Bartyzal, 54, of New Prague, died at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, on Friday, Sept. 11. 

A son of Frank E. and Regina (Zaun) Bartyzal, Russell was born in New Prague, on Sept. 21, 1943. He was a graduate of St. Wenceslaus School and New Prague High School.

Bartyzal served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era, for more than four years.

Russell Bartyzal and Constance J. Cesafsky were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Lexington, on Oct. 24, 1964. He has been employed with Northwest Airlines, as a mechanic, for 31 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and cooking, and as a hobby he also made knives-and jewelry.

Russell J. Bartyzal is survived by his wife, Mrs. Connie Bartyzal, New Prague; a daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Patrick Perkinson, New Prague; sons and daughters-in-law Brian and Margaret Bartyzal:  Shakopee, Craig and Katie Bartyzal, Elko, and Bruce and Natalie Bartyzal, and Brad Bartyzal, New Prague; and seven grandchildren.  He is also survived by brothers and sisters and their spouses, Clifford and Sheila Bartyzal, White City, OR, Kenneth Bartyzal, Garrison, Beverly and Ron Fedie, Nisula, MI, Dale Bartyzal, Shakopee, and Helen and.Dan Tikalsky, New Prague; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Bartyzal, Montgomery, and Noreen Seurer, New Prague. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Richard (Minnow) Bartyzal, and Clayton Bartyzal, and two sisters, Mary Lou Seurer and, Gerry Armstrong.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m., at St. Wenceslaus-Catholic Church in New Prague. The Rev. George Freeman officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial.

Urn bearers were Dick Dietz and Mark Kochlin.

Music was by Jenny Bissel, vocalist and pianist, and Sr. Danita Sticka, pianist. Mass servers were Kurt, Aaron and Tyler Seurer.

Interment was at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, New Prague, and military rites were conducted by the New Prague Area Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation was at the Bruzek Funeral Horne in New Prague, on Monday from 3 until 8 p.m.  Parish prayers were offered at 3:15 p.m.
